The best way to buy Alo Yoga in 2026

Retailer overview

Alo Yoga is the Los Angeles activewear company co-founded in 2007 by Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge, now known for the Airlift and Airbrush leggings, the Accolade sweats, and a celebrity-heavy marketing machine. It sells through aloyoga.com and its own stores, with a small wholesale footprint and an Amazon storefront. It also runs Alo Moves, a subscription yoga and fitness app, which matters here because of its referral program.

Alo prices high and holds. There’s no weekly markdown section like lululemon’s We Made Too Much, and no sitewide code floating around. The whole discount calendar is two events: the Aloversary sale in early May and the Black Friday run that starts in late October. Both are 30% sitewide, both are gated behind the free Alo Access membership, and both are the reason the portal math on this page has an asterisk.

Cashback portal strategy

Rakuten’s rate dropped back to its 2% base today. The 10% spike ran from at least mid-August 2026 (CashbackMonitor logged it on August 14) to mid-September, and 2% is what the page shows most of the year. TopCashback’s 6% is the best full-price rate while Rakuten sits at base. Rakuten wasn’t in The Points Guy’s Labor Day 2025 triple-cashback list, and we couldn’t verify what it paid during Black Friday week 2025.

The exclusion that matters is “Member Only sales.” Alo’s 30% events are members-only, so plan on Rakuten paying nothing on a sale order. TopCashback excludes sale items outright. Capital One Shopping’s terms don’t mention member sales, which makes it the portal to click during one, at 3%.

Credit card / Amex Offer strategy

This is where Alo and lululemon diverge. lululemon has the Amex Platinum’s $75 quarterly credit, a recurring Amex Offer, and a regular Chase Offer. Alo has none of those. We searched for Amex Offers and Chase Offers on aloyoga.com across 2025 and 2026 (Doctor of Credit, Frequent Miler, Slickdeals, r/amex, the offer aggregators) and found nothing. Offer.love lists zero active card offers and one expired one: a Bank of America BankAmeriDeals 6%, added around mid-2025.

So the card layer is $0. Alo codes as clothing, which earns no category bonus on any major card. Pay with your best flat-rate card, or with a card that has purchase protection on a $150 legging.

If you want the Platinum credit in this category, buy lululemon. If you want the portal, buy Alo. There’s no store where both apply.

Alo Access, discounts, and referral

Alo Access. Free. One point per dollar at aloyoga.com and US stores. Three tiers by annual points: VIP (1-299), A-List (300-999), All Access (1,000+). Alo’s launch post lists members-only sales, 10% off a first order, free two-day shipping at the higher tiers, gifts with purchase, early access to drops, and birthday gifts, with point redemption described as “coming soon” during the beta. The practical benefit is the gate: the 30% sales are for members, and signing in is what applies the discount.

Email signup. 15% off a first order, delivered as a code. Not listed on any portal.

Student discount. Through Student Beans: 15% off when you sign up, with “up to 40% off” promotions during back-to-school windows. Terms and expiry aren’t published on the Student Beans page.

Pro Program. 25% off for certified yoga, fitness, and Pilates teachers, valid at aloyoga.com and US stores only, full-price items only. Apply on Alo’s Pro Program page.

Referral. Two programs. The apparel one gives a friend 15% off a first order and you 15% off a next order once they buy. The Alo Moves one, per third-party referral trackers, pays $25 in Alo Yoga credit for each friend who starts a 30-day Alo Moves free trial, no purchase required. We couldn’t reach Alo’s own terms page for the Alo Moves version, so verify the reward inside your account first.

Alo Moves. The app runs its own trials and a student rate; it’s a separate subscription, not an apparel discount.

Not found: a military discount, a price-match or price-adjustment policy, a trade-in or resale program.

Best time of year to buy

The decision rule: 30% off with no cashback beats 6% cashback at full price on every order, so if you can wait until late October, wait. If the thing you want tends to sell out in your size, TopCashback’s 6% (or a Rakuten spike, if one is on) is a fair price to pay for not waiting.

Checkout sequence

1. Open Rakuten's aloyoga.com page and read the rate. 10% means a spike is on; 2% (today) means the base, and TopCashback's 6% is the better click on full price.
2. Decide the path. Full price and no code: use TopCashback (6%), keeping the order under $500. First order: use the 15% email code and skip the portal. Member sale (30%): sign in to Alo Access and click through Capital One Shopping instead of Rakuten, since Rakuten excludes member-only sales.
3. Clean browser session, ad blockers off. Activate the portal and click through to aloyoga.com.
4. Build the cart. If you're on a portal, don't enter a code that isn't listed on that portal. TopCashback: keep the order under $500 and avoid sale items.
5. Pay with your best flat-rate card. There's no card offer to trigger.
6. Confirm the portal shows the order pending within 48 hours. If you return anything, expect the whole order's cashback to be reversed.
