Bilt is on this site because of the Rakuten payout. Rakuten will pay your cashback as Bilt points instead of cash, at 100 points per dollar for Silver status and above (50 for Blue, since a May 2026 change), and Bilt points transfer 1:1 to Alaska Atmos Rewards, World of Hyatt, United, and Virgin Atlantic. That turns Bergdorf's 15% Rakuten rate into 15 Alaska miles per dollar. The cards themselves, relaunched in February 2026 as Bilt Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium, earn 1x to 2x at the retailers here plus 4% back in Bilt Cash, and they no longer have a five-transaction rule. Bilt has no shopping portal of its own and no premium-retail card offers, so on a Stackable page it's the payout currency, not the payment card.

The rule this page exists for

Bilt earns modestly at the retailers on this site. What it changes is what your Rakuten cashback becomes. Set the payout to Bilt and a 15% Bergdorf rate is 15 points per dollar, transferable 1:1 to Alaska, Hyatt, United, or Virgin Atlantic. No card is required for that; a free Bilt account is enough. Hold Silver status or above and the rate is 100 points per dollar of cashback; at Blue it’s 50.

The 2026 cards

Bilt Card 2.0 launched February 7, 2026 with Cardless: Blue ($0), Obsidian ($95), Palladium ($495). Palladium earns 2x on everything and 4x on Rent Day; Obsidian earns 3x on dining or grocery (your choice) and 2x on travel; all three earn 4% Bilt Cash on non-housing spend and 1x on everything else. Rent and mortgage earn up to 1.25x, funded by Bilt Cash rather than a transaction fee. The old Wells Fargo card stopped earning on new spend the same day.

On a Stackable retailer page the card earns 1x or 2x. Pay with whichever card holds a live Amex or Chase offer instead, and let Bilt be where the cashback lands.

Rent Day and transfer bonuses

The first of each month brings elevated earning (2x to 6x by card and category, capped) and, most months, a transfer bonus tiered by status. September 2026 was Virgin Atlantic at 25% (Blue) to 75% (Platinum). 2026 has seen Hilton 200%, TAP 125%, BA/Iberia/Aer Lingus 100%, Wyndham 125%, JAL 125%, and Accor 125%. None is live mid-month.

Transfer partners in 2026

1:1 to Alaska Atmos Rewards, United, Air France/KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Aeroplan, Avianca, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Qatar, Cathay, Emirates, Etihad, Turkish, TAP, Southwest, Japan Airlines, Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Wyndham; Accor at 3:2 and I Prefer at 1:2. American Airlines is not a partner.

FAQ

How does the Rakuten-to-Bilt payout work?
Create a free Bilt Rewards account (the app is enough; no card required), then set Rakuten's payout preference to Bilt. Each quarterly payment lands as points: 100 per dollar of cashback at Silver status and above, 50 per dollar at Blue since May 15, 2026. Switch before the quarter closes; it isn't retroactive.
What changed with Bilt Card 2.0?
In February 2026 Bilt moved from the Wells Fargo card to three Mastercards issued with Cardless: Blue ($0), Obsidian ($95), Palladium ($495). The five-transactions-per-statement rule is gone, replaced by Bilt Cash: cards earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on non-housing spend, and $30 of Bilt Cash unlocks 1,000 points on rent or mortgage. In practice you need everyday spend of roughly three quarters of your rent to earn 1x on it.
Does Bilt have a shopping portal?
No. Rakuten is the shopping route, and Bilt is the payout option. Bilt's card-linked offers cover dining, fitness, Lyft, Walgreens, and parking, not premium retail.
Which transfer partners matter for this site?
Alaska Atmos Rewards (the only 1:1 route from a transferable currency), World of Hyatt, United, Virgin Atlantic, Qatar Avios, Turkish, Air France/KLM, and Marriott, all 1:1. American Airlines is not a partner. Minimum transfer is 2,000 points at Blue, 1,000 at Silver and above.
How is status earned in 2026?
Silver at 50,000 points earned or $10,000 of qualifying non-housing spend in a year; Gold at 125,000 or $25,000; Platinum at 200,000 or $50,000. Status sets the Rakuten payout rate (50 vs 100 per dollar) and the Rent Day transfer bonus tier.
What are Bilt points worth?
1.25 cents in Bilt Travel for cardholders, 1.5 toward a home down payment, about 0.7 for gift cards, and 1.5 to 2 when transferred to Hyatt or an airline for a premium seat. This site uses 1.5 for math.
