This is the honest version of a Rimowa savings page. Rimowa doesn't run sales, not Black Friday, not end of season, not ever. Rakuten dropped the store sometime between May and September 2026, TopCashback never had it, and the last Amex Offer was in 2020. What's left is a 2% card, the Re-Crafted pre-owned program (the only structural discount Rimowa offers), and a decision about whether to buy the Essential polycarbonate line instead of aluminum. If you want a Rimowa, the price is the price.

Retailer overview

Rimowa was founded in 1898 in Cologne and invented the grooved aluminum suitcase. LVMH bought it in 2016 and has run it as a luxury house since: flagship stores (a New Bond Street flagship opened in 2026), collaborations (Faber-Castell this year), new lines (Distinct, Hybrid, Essential Sleeve), and no discounting.

The US price of the Original Cabin in silver is $1,550 as of September 15, 2026, up from about $1,425 when we last checked in May. Whether that’s a tariff pass-through or an LVMH price move is unverified; Rimowa hasn’t posted a notice. Shipping on luggage is free and returns are free within 30 days.

Credit card strategy

Rimowa codes as general retail. Earlier versions of this page claimed travel-card multipliers on Rimowa purchases; we couldn’t verify that and it’s unlikely. Assume your card’s base rate, and pick the card with the best purchase protection and extended warranty rather than the best points.

Amex Offers on Rimowa were targeted and last appeared in 2020. Check the Offers tab; don’t plan around it.

Re-Crafted: the only discount

Rimowa Re-Crafted is the brand’s own pre-owned program, US launch March 25, 2025, online only. Each aluminum piece gets a 30-point inspection and is sold with a two-year warranty (against the lifetime functional guarantee on new) and complimentary returns. Reported pricing is $600 to $1,000 for pieces that list at $1,400 and up new. Trade in an old Rimowa and you get a $300 voucher toward anything.

Inventory comes in drops that sell out fast. As of mid-September the page is a sign-up list with no live stock. If you’re flexible on color and size, this is the only way to get a Rimowa for meaningfully less than list.

FAQ

Does Rimowa do Black Friday?
No. Rimowa has never run a Black Friday promotion and doesn't hold sales at any point in the year; there's no sale section on rimowa.com. Earlier versions of this page said Black Friday brought 10-15% on select models. That was wrong, and we've corrected it.
Is Rimowa on Rakuten?
Not as of September 15, 2026. Rakuten's rimowa.com page reads "The store you're looking for is no longer available on Rakuten." It paid 2% as recently as May. TopCashback has no Rimowa page. Delta SkyMiles Shopping lists Rimowa, rate unverified, which may be the only remaining portal angle.
Has Rimowa ever had an Amex Offer?
Yes, targeted ones in 2019 ($150 on $500) and 2020 (10,000 points on $600). Nothing in 2025 or 2026. Check the Offers tab before a purchase, but don't wait for one.
What is Re-Crafted?

Rarely. Both carry Rimowa, but the last documented markdown was a Bergdorf new-customer promo in 2020, and LVMH has been pulling Rimowa from department stores to prevent discounting. If a Bergdorf gift-card event or Rakuten spike applies to Rimowa, that's a stack; check the exclusions.
Is the polycarbonate Essential line worth it over aluminum?
For most travelers, yes. The Essential line is 30-40% cheaper, scratches less visibly, and weighs less. Aluminum is the design statement and the heirloom piece. Given that neither ever goes on sale, the model choice is the biggest "discount" available.
