The best way to buy Sonos in 2026

Retailer overview

Sonos is the Santa Barbara wireless-audio company that spent 2024 and 2025 recovering from a botched app relaunch, changed CEOs (Tom Conrad), and by mid-2026 was growing again: third-quarter revenue up 9% year over year, helped by a $23 million tariff refund. It raised US prices in August 2025 to offset tariffs, which is why the Arc Ultra now lists at $1,099 rather than $999.

On September 1, 2026, Sonos announced the Beam Ultra ($699), the Ace Ultra ($449), and its new 27 OS, with shipping from September 29. Both new products are excluded from promo codes.

Sonos discounts on a schedule and holds price between windows. The stack is the window plus the portal, or refurbished plus the portal, with no card layer to speak of.

Cashback portal strategy

Neither portal has shown above 2% in the last six months. Social posts reference older 8% and 15% Sonos spikes, but we couldn’t date them. Sonos wasn’t in Rakuten’s June 2026 Big Stack event.

Credit card / Amex Offer strategy

No Amex Offer or Chase Offer for sonos.com surfaced for 2025 or 2026. Sonos codes as electronics; no travel card gives a category bonus. Use the card with the best flat return and extended warranty; an extra year on a $1,000 soundbar is worth more than the points.

Sale windows, refurbished, and programs

The windows. Sonos ran the Arc Ultra at $899 during the Big Game / Presidents’ Day sale (roughly February 2 to 16, 2026), Memorial Day (through about May 31), and end of summer / Labor Day (ended August 31). Black Friday 2025 (November 20 to about December 1) went one step further: Arc Ultra $879, Ace $279 (30% off), and 25% off an Arc Ultra plus Sub 4 bundle. A refurbished-only sale in late April 2026 took up to 40% off.

Certified Refurbished. Sonos sells its own refurbished units at sonos.com/en-us/shop/certified-refurbished with a one-year warranty and 30-day returns. Recent prices: Arc Ultra $879, Ace $279, Beam Gen 2 $399, Era 100 $179. This is the price floor for Sonos and it’s available any day the stock is there.

Upgrade Program. 15% to 30% credit for registered legacy products, no expiry. Owner-only offers also appear occasionally (a 25% “20 years” offer ran in early 2025) but have excluded the Arc, Arc Ultra, and Sub.

Student discount. 15% through Student Beans, $2,500 cap, excludes refurbished and the new Ultra products. Worth far more than the portal; take it alone.

Not found: military, first-responder, or referral programs, or a fixed email-signup percentage.

5. Build the cart at the sale or refurbished price. No outside codes.
6. Pay with a card that extends the warranty.
7. Confirm Rakuten shows the order pending within 48 hours.
