Retailer overview
Neiman Marcus is the Dallas-born luxury department store that, since the 2025 merger with Saks, has been the lead banner of what is now Exemplar Luxury Group (the renamed Saks Global, which exited Chapter 11 on June 26, 2026). The 2026 restructuring closed four Neiman stores, every Last Call outlet, and Horchow, and left the core neimanmarcus.com business and 32 stores in place.
For a stacker, Neiman is a “pick the bigger lever” retailer. The portals pay little, the card offers come and go, and the store’s own promotions are structured as codes that the portals refuse to honor. The InCircle program is the one layer that stacks with everything, and it’s only available on the store card.
Cashback portal strategy
| Portal | Current rate | Pays on sale? | Exclusions |
|---|---|---|---|
| TopCashback | 5% | No | Sale and clearance, jewelry, Balenciaga, Prada, unlisted codes |
| Rakuten | 2% | Yes | Jewelry, watches, Prada, gift cards, phone/app/style-adviser orders, unlisted codes |
| Bergdorf Goodman on Rakuten | 15% | Yes | For comparison. Same inventory. |
Rakuten’s Neiman rate has no posted “was” figure and trackers show no recent high, so don’t wait for a Rakuten spike here; historically it’s Bergdorf that spikes. Beauty is not excluded on either portal.
Both portals void cashback on any promo code they don’t list. This matters more at Neiman than almost anywhere else, because Neiman’s gift-card events, birthday-month 10%, and signup codes are all unlisted.

Credit card / Amex Offer strategy
Amex Offers on Neiman Marcus have appeared roughly once a year: spend $250, get $50 (September to November 2025), and a 5,000 Membership Rewards variant in late 2024. Terms excluded Last Call, gift cards, and restaurants. Nothing is active today. Check the Offers tab on every Amex card before a $250+ order; it’s a free $50 when it’s there.
No Chase Offer for Neiman surfaced in 2025 or 2026. Bank of America runs click-through offers (1.5% and up to 5% at various times) that function like a portal and can’t be combined with Rakuten or TopCashback.
Neiman codes as a department store. No travel-card category bonus applies.
InCircle loyalty program
InCircle is Neiman’s and Bergdorf’s shared loyalty program, and it requires the store credit card (issued by Capital One, the same card at both banners):
- 2 points per dollar; 5 points per dollar once you pass $75,000 in a calendar year
- 10,000 points redeem for a $100 Point Card (an effective 2% at the base earn rate)
- Tiers by annual spend: Circle One at $1, Two at $1,000, Three at $2,500, Four at $5,000, Five at $10,000, Six at $35,000
- Perk Cards ($25 to $100) at Circle Three and above, in-store only
- Free two-day shipping from Circle Two
Points are earned by the card, not by the click, so they stack with either portal. InCircle points do not transfer to SaksFirst; the two programs remain separate after the merger.
Promo code opportunities
Neiman’s public promotions are mostly tiered gift-card events (“earn up to a $500 gift card”) that require a code at checkout. There’s also a birthday-month 10% for InCircle members and a signup code. None of these are listed on the portals, so every one of them voids cashback.
The decision is simple arithmetic:
- Order under about $1,000: 5% TopCashback plus 2% in points beats a $100 gift-card tier. Use the portal.
- Order in the top gift-card tier: a $500 gift card on a large order beats 5% back. Use the code, skip the portal.
- Any order during a triple-point event: no code needed, so take the portal and the 6 pts/$ together.
Best time of year to buy
Common exclusions
- Jewelry and Prada earn no cashback on either portal; Rakuten also excludes watches, TopCashback also excludes Balenciaga
- TopCashback excludes all sale and clearance merchandise
- Gift cards, phone orders, app orders, and style-adviser orders earn nothing
- Any code not listed on the portal voids cashback (gift-card events, birthday 10%, signup codes)
- InCircle points require the store card; no points on other tenders
- Returns go back to the banner you bought from; a Neiman order can’t be returned to Bergdorf or Saks
Checkout sequence
- Check Bergdorf Goodman's Rakuten rate first. If the item is on both sites and Bergdorf is spiking, buy it there.
- Decide portal or code. Gift-card event on a large order: shop direct with the code. Otherwise, continue.
- Full-price item: activate TopCashback (5%). Sale item: activate Rakuten (2%). Clean session, ad blockers off.
- Check Amex Offers across all your cards for a live Neiman offer.
- Click through the portal to neimanmarcus.com. Sign in so InCircle credits.
- Pay with the NM card for InCircle points, unless an Amex Offer is live and worth more.
- Confirm the portal shows the order pending within 48 hours.
$1,500 full-price ready-to-wear, NM card, no event
During a triple-point event the points line becomes ~$90 and the total ~$165 (11%). During a gift-card event, a $500 card on this order beats both, at the cost of the portal.

The events are the real discount here and they aren't announced far ahead. We email the day one goes live, and whenever either portal moves above 5%.
