The best way to buy Saint Laurent in 2026

Saint Laurent is the Kering house that quietly stopped public markdowns in 2020 and never brought them back. As of September 15, 2026, ysl.com is not listed on Rakuten, TopCashback, or Capital One Shopping, and we found no Amex or Chase Offer for the brand in 2025 or 2026. That makes this a fork, not a stack. Path A is ysl.com direct: full price, zero layers, 30-day free returns. Path B is the same bag at an authorized stockist where a portal does pay, and right now that means Bergdorf Goodman with Rakuten at up to 15%, which is the biggest gap between direct and reseller we've seen in luxury this year.

The 30-second answer

The Saint Laurent fork, as of today

ysl.com is not listed on any US portal we checked. The rates below belong to the stockists, read from each portal's store page for that stockist, and only apply if you buy there.

  • Rakuten on ysl.com
No store page. Rakuten's Saint Laurent brand page routes only to department stores and resellers.
    Not listed
  • TopCashback / Capital One Shopping
TopCashback store URL returns 404. Capital One Shopping has a coupon page for ysl.com with no rewards rate.
    Not listed
  • Path B, Bergdorf Goodman via Rakuten
Up to 15%, was 2%. No brand exclusions in the terms; excludes phone, app, and style-adviser orders and price adjustments.
    up to 15%
  • Path B, Saks or Neiman via TopCashback
5% at both. Neiman excludes sale items; Saks excludes fine jewelry. Rakuten is 2% at both, and 2% at Mytheresa.
    2-5%
  • Amex / Chase Offer
None found for Saint Laurent in 2025 or 2026
    $0
Loulou small shoulder bag ($2,750) via Bergdorf with Rakuten 15%
~$2,338 (15% back)
Right now: the same bag on ysl.com is $2,750 with nothing back. If the color or size you want is a ysl.com exclusive, Path A is the only path. If Bergdorf has it, Path B is worth about $412 on this bag, and Rakuten's Bergdorf rate has no posted end date.

Retailer overview

Saint Laurent is Kering’s second-largest house after Gucci, run creatively by Anthony Vaccarello since 2016. In the US the brand sells through ysl.com, its own boutiques, a small number of department stores (Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s), Mytheresa, and two outlet boutiques we could verify at Simon centers. The bags that drive the business are the Loulou (small, $2,750), Niki (small, $3,100), Le 5 à 7 (from about $3,400 in exotic finishes), Sac de Jour (suede, $4,500), and Icare (raffia, $4,700). Prices above are from Mytheresa and Saks in September 2026, all at full retail.

Commercially, Saint Laurent made a deliberate choice around 2020 to stop public markdowns, trim its wholesale accounts, and sell at full price through controlled channels. That decision is still in force. Ysl.com has no sale tab, no promo codes, no email-signup discount, and no student or military program. Coupon sites listing “Saint Laurent codes” are filler pages; nothing on them will apply at checkout. This page is about where the discount actually lives, which is mostly not on ysl.com.

Cashback portal strategy

Portal ysl.com rate Notes
Rakuten Not listed No store page for ysl.com. The Saint Laurent brand page routes only to Bergdorf (up to 15%), Saks, Neiman, Bloomingdale’s, Harrods, Farfetch, and Macy’s (2%).
TopCashback Not listed Store URL returns 404.
Capital One Shopping Not listed Coupon page for ysl.com exists with no rewards rate.

There is no portal layer on ysl.com today, and unlike Gucci (whose Rakuten page is live at 0%), there is no evidence a Saint Laurent US store page ever existed. CashbackMonitor’s Saint Laurent entry, last updated September 14, 2026, shows “No Reward Information for the Store” with an empty rate history. Cashbackholic is the same.

The portal rates that matter are the stockists’ own:

Stockist Rakuten TopCashback Saint Laurent excluded?
Bergdorf Goodman Up to 15% (was 2%) 2%, excludes sale No brand exclusions listed
Saks Fifth Avenue 2% 5% No; excludes fine jewelry
Neiman Marcus 2% 5%, full price only No; excludes Prada, jewelry, watches
Mytheresa 2% Not checked No; excludes Gucci, Prada, Miu Miu, Fendi
Net-a-Porter 2.5% 3% Yes on Rakuten

Bergdorf is the outlier. Its Rakuten rate jumped from 2% to up to 15% with no end date posted, the terms name no excluded brands, and Rakuten’s own Saint Laurent brand page points to Bergdorf at that rate. The caveat is “up to”: Rakuten uses that phrasing when categories vary (beauty is 2%), and we couldn’t confirm a tracked Saint Laurent order at the full 15%. It is still the best available number by a wide margin.

Credit card / Amex Offer strategy

Nothing found. Frequent Miler’s running list of current Amex Offers has no Saint Laurent, YSL, or Kering entry, and Doctor of Credit, Slickdeals, and r/amex turned up nothing for 2025 or 2026. Offer.love returns “No offers found” for the brand. No Amex Platinum, Gold, or Sapphire benefit covers Saint Laurent.

So the card choice is about general earn and protection. A $2,750 bag on a 2x-everywhere card returns roughly 2% in points, which is the same as the Rakuten rate at Saks or Mytheresa. Purchase protection matters more than the points on a bag at this price; pay with a card that has it. If an Amex or Chase Offer ever appears for Saint Laurent, it will be a statement credit and will stack with a direct purchase, which would flip Path A back into contention.

One reseller offer is worth knowing: Neiman Marcus ran an Amex Offer ($50 back on $250+) from September to November 2025. Nothing is live at Neiman or Bergdorf today, but the department stores are where a card offer is most likely to show up.

The fork: direct vs. stockist

Because the portal and the merchant don’t line up, this is a Path A / Path B decision, not a stack.

Path A: ysl.com direct. Full price, 0% back, free shipping, free 30-day returns by prepaid label, and the widest assortment including ysl.com exclusives and new-season pieces. Choose this when the exact style, color, and size aren’t stocked elsewhere, or when you want the boutique relationship.

Path B: an authorized stockist with a portal rate. Same authentic product at the same full price (Saint Laurent is a heritage house and is not going to be inside a department-store sitewide code), but the portal pays. Today that means Bergdorf via Rakuten at up to 15%, or Saks and Neiman via TopCashback at 5%, or Mytheresa via Rakuten at 2%. Returns go back to the stockist under its policy. Choose this when the piece is in stock there.

On a $2,750 bag the gap is $55 to about $412. At the Bergdorf number, availability is the only reason to pick Path A.

Discount programs, outlet, and private sale

Email signup, student, military, referral: none. Ysl.com’s newsletter is for launches and events, not a code. No ID.me or GovX discount, no referral program.

Private sale: Saint Laurent used to email a link to an invite-only online sale before Memorial Day and again in late fall. PurseForum members reported in 2024 that this stopped after 2021, and one sales associate attributed it to the brand cutting production and inventory. If you have a boutique relationship, ask; otherwise, don’t plan on it.

Outlet: the only sanctioned discount channel. We verified Saint Laurent boutiques at Woodbury Common (Suite 681, Saratoga District) and Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon (Suite 222, next to Gucci). Stock is past-season and discontinued colors. Third-party guides claim 30-70% below original retail; we couldn’t verify depth. Outlets don’t sell online, don’t take ysl.com returns, and no portal is involved.

Pre-owned: outside this page’s scope, but for older Loulou and Sac de Jour colors it’s where the real discount lives.

Best time of year to buy

While Bergdorf is at 15% (now)
Rakuten's Bergdorf rate moved from 2% to up to 15% with no end date posted. This is the largest Path B gap in luxury today. Rakuten's department-store spikes usually last days to a few weeks.
Up to 15%
Stockist markdowns (June, late December)
Saks, Neiman, Bergdorf, and Mytheresa mark down seasonal Saint Laurent colors and ready-to-wear in June and after Christmas, typically 30-40% per a March 2026 guide. Black, beige, and permanent styles almost never appear. Rakuten pays on sale items at Saks and Bergdorf; TopCashback doesn't at Neiman or Bergdorf.
30-40% + 2%
Outlet clearance (Jan/Feb, Jul/Aug)
Woodbury Common and Desert Hills take extra markdowns at traditional clearance points. In person only.
Varies
ysl.com itself
No public sale we could verify in 2025 or 2026. Full price year-round. If a piece is direct-only, there is no better month to buy it.
0%

Price increases: Kering houses adjust US prices periodically on currency and tariffs, but we couldn’t verify a documented Saint Laurent round with numbers for 2026, so we don’t quote one. If you’ve chosen a piece, waiting for a ysl.com sale that isn’t coming is the more expensive mistake.

Common exclusions and fine print

  • No portal pays on ysl.com; the 2-15% rates belong to Bergdorf, Saks, Neiman, and Mytheresa and require buying there
  • Rakuten’s Net-a-Porter terms exclude Saint Laurent; Farfetch no longer carries the brand directly
  • Rakuten’s Bergdorf rate is “up to 15%,” beauty is 2%, and price adjustments void it
  • TopCashback excludes sale items at Neiman and Bergdorf; Rakuten does not
  • No Amex or Chase Offer has appeared for Saint Laurent in 2025 or 2026
  • 30-day free returns on ysl.com; no price adjustments
  • Outlet purchases are separate from ysl.com for returns and carry no portal
  • Coupon-site “Saint Laurent codes” don’t exist; entering one at a stockist that isn’t listed on the portal may void cashback

Checkout sequence

  1. Search the exact style and color at Bergdorf Goodman first, then Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Mytheresa. In stock in your size: Path B. Not stocked: Path A.
  2. Check the Amex and Chase Offers tabs on every card, for Saint Laurent and for the stockist you're using. A Saint Laurent offer is unlikely but would be the only layer that stacks with a direct purchase.
  3. Path B: open the portal's store page for that stockist and read the rate today. Bergdorf via Rakuten (up to 15%) beats Saks or Neiman via TopCashback (5%), which beats Rakuten 2% anywhere. Screenshot it.
  4. Clean browser session, ad blockers off. Click through the portal to the stockist. Don't use the stockist's app or call a style adviser; both void Rakuten at Bergdorf.
  5. Path A: go straight to ysl.com. Don't hunt for a code.
  6. Pay with a card that carries purchase protection, or the card holding a live offer.
  7. Path B: confirm the portal shows the order pending within 48 hours. It stays pending through the stockist's return window.
  8. Keep the tags on until you're sure. 30 days on ysl.com; check the stockist's policy on Path B.
Worked example

Loulou small shoulder bag, $2,750

Path A: ysl.com direct, no portal, no offer$0.00 back
Path B: Bergdorf Goodman via Rakuten 15%$412.50 back
Path B alt: Saks or Neiman via TopCashback 5%$137.50 back
Path B alt: Mytheresa via Rakuten 2%$55.00 back
Best case, you pay~$2,338 (15% back)

If Bergdorf falls back to 2%, Path B is worth $55 to $137 and availability and returns should decide. If a seasonal color is marked down 30% at Saks in June, Rakuten pays 2% on the sale price and Path B is roughly $1,886 all in.

Get alerted if a portal turns on ysl.com, or Bergdorf drops back to 2%.

Rakuten's Bergdorf rate is the whole Path B case today. We email the day it changes, the day any portal lists ysl.com, and the day an Amex or Chase Offer lands on either.

FAQ

Does Rakuten pay cashback on ysl.com?
No. As of September 15, 2026 there is no Rakuten store page for ysl.com at all (rakuten.com/shop/saint-laurent and rakuten.com/ysl.com both return 404). Rakuten's Saint Laurent brand page exists, but every store on it is a reseller: Bergdorf Goodman at up to 15%, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Harrods, and Farfetch at 2%. Those are rates for those stores, not for Saint Laurent. CashbackMonitor and Cashbackholic both show zero portals and no rate history for the fashion site.
What about YSL Beauty?
Different company, different site. YSL Beauty (yslbeautyus.com) is a L'Oréal license and has its own portal listings on Rakuten and TopCashback. Nothing on it applies to bags, shoes, or ready-to-wear on ysl.com, and this page doesn't cover it.
Does ysl.com have a sale?
Not a public one that we could verify in 2025 or 2026. Saint Laurent's then-CEO Francesca Bellettini said in 2021 the brand had "completely stopped making public markdowns during the pandemic," and PurseForum members reported in 2024 that the invite-only private sale on ysl.com had also stopped after 2021. A guide updated in March 2026 says ysl.com "may have a very limited sale selection" at end of season. Coupon sites claiming twice-yearly 50% off are not describing anything we could confirm. Seasonal colors do get marked down at Saks, Neiman, Bergdorf, and Mytheresa in June and after Christmas.
Is there an Amex Offer or Chase Offer for Saint Laurent?
We found none for 2025 or 2026 on Frequent Miler's current Amex Offers list, Doctor of Credit, Slickdeals, or Reddit, and no Platinum credit covers the brand. Check the Offers tab before a large order anyway. A statement-credit offer would be the one layer that works on a direct ysl.com purchase.
Is Bergdorf Goodman really 15% on a Saint Laurent bag?
Rakuten's Bergdorf page reads "Up to 15% Cash Back," was 2%, with beauty at 2%. The terms list no brand exclusions, only phone, app, and style-adviser orders, gift cards, and price adjustments. Rakuten's own Saint Laurent brand page lists Bergdorf at up to 15%. We have not confirmed a tracked Saint Laurent order at the full 15%, so treat it as likely rather than guaranteed, and screenshot the rate before you click through.
Why not Farfetch or Net-a-Porter?
Kering pulled Saint Laurent (and Gucci) from Farfetch in February 2024, so the brand is only there through third-party boutiques, if at all. Net-a-Porter stocks Saint Laurent, but Rakuten's Net-a-Porter terms list Saint Laurent as a cashback exclusion. Neither is a Path B channel.
What is Saint Laurent's return policy?
30 days from delivery, free, with a prepaid return label, for unworn items with tags and packaging. Saint Laurent does not do price adjustments. We read this from two policy summaries because ysl.com blocked our fetch; confirm on the site before you buy.
