Samsung.com/us is Samsung’s direct store for Galaxy phones, tablets, and laptops, The Frame and its OLED and Neo QLED TVs, and Bespoke appliances. Unlike Apple, Samsung discounts its own hardware aggressively and layers the discounts, which is why a samsung.com order can involve a trade-in, a program price, a reservation credit, a card, and a portal at once.

Two 2026 changes matter. Samsung raised prices mid-cycle in April 2026 ($50 to $280 on several tablets and phones, no reason given), and it launched the Samsung Galaxy Card with Barclays in August 2026, which pays 5% on samsung.com and replaces the old TD Bank financing account as the “Samsung card.”

Cashback portal strategy

No “was” rate on Rakuten and no 2025 or 2026 spike we could verify. For a TV, Rakuten is the only portal that pays. For a phone, either.

Credit cards, offers, and financing

Samsung Galaxy Card (Barclays Visa, August 2026): 5% cash rewards on Samsung purchases, 3% on Samsung Wallet purchases, 2% streaming, 1% elsewhere, $200 bonus after $2,000 in 90 days. Annual fee and APR unverified. For anyone buying a $1,000+ Samsung product, the $200 bonus alone is worth more than any portal.

Amex Offers. $200 back on $2,000 (2022 and 2023), 10% up to $200 (March 2024), $125 back on $1,250 (May to July 2026). Terms exclude carrier financing, Samsung for Business, and employee stores. Nothing live today; one has appeared most years.

Chase Offers. 15 to 20% back capped around $51 in fall 2023. Nothing found since.

Financing. Samsung Financing (up to 24 months, 0 to 36% APR depending on promotion) and Affirm at checkout. No portal exclusion for financed orders.

Samsung’s own programs

• Offer Programs: up to 30% off for Education (.edu email), Military, First Responder, Healthcare, Government (ID.me), and Workplace (Perks at Work, Perkspot, BenefitHub). Rakuten excludes Workplace orders; Education tracking is unverified.
• Trade-in: up to $900 off the S26 series at pre-order with a recent flagship; $150 instant credit with no trade at all. Fold 8 launch advertised up to $1,230. Trade-in cancels if you return the new phone, and Samsung can’t send a traded device back. Grading-based clawback terms are unverified; ship a device in the condition you declared.
• Samsung Rewards: 0.5%, 1%, or 1.5% back in points by tier, at half a cent per point, calculated after discounts. Small, automatic, stacks.
• Referral: new customers get 5% off (max $250) with a referral code; the referrer earns matching points (cap $1,000 a year). Ten codes a year. Stacking language absent.
• Reservation credit: $30 for reserving before Unpacked and then pre-ordering, applied to accessories. Down from $50 in 2025.
• Certified Re-Newed: S26 $759, S26+ $929, S26 Ultra $1,099, roughly $200 under new. Warranty unverified.

Best time of year to buy

Phones rarely get list-price cuts; the discount is the trade-in and the program price. TVs and appliances get real markdowns in the windows above.

• TopCashback excludes TVs and home audio
• Employee Perks (Workplace) orders don’t track on Rakuten; Education is unverified

Checkout sequence

1. Check Offer Program eligibility (school email, ID.me, employer perks portal). If eligible, sign into that store first.
2. Price your trade-in on samsung.com. Decide whether to trade or take the $150 no-trade credit.
3. Timing: if a launch pre-order or Discover Samsung is within a few weeks, wait for it. Reserve before Unpacked for the $30 credit.
4. Check Amex Offers and Chase Offers. Add any Samsung offer to the card.
5. Clean browser session, ad blockers off. Activate Rakuten (TVs) or either portal (phones) and click through to samsung.com. Empty cart for TopCashback.
6. Build the order: program price, trade-in, reservation credit, Rewards. One promo code at most.
7. Pay with the Galaxy Card (5%) or the card holding a live offer.
8. Confirm the portal shows the order pending within 48 hours. Ship the trade-in device promptly and in the declared condition.
