What they don't share is portal coverage: Rakuten shows Crate & Barrel at no cash back today, while CB2 has its own store page at up to 2% (1% on furniture). Either way the portal is the smallest layer here. Crate & Barrel Holdings runs Crate & Barrel, CB2 (its more contemporary, more affordable sibling), Crate & Kids, and Hudson Grace. The brands share a credit card, a trade program, gift cards, and delivery infrastructure, and CB2 is where the same parent puts the lower price points and the bolder designs.

This is a mid-stack retailer. The portal layer is thin or absent, card-linked offers are small and occasional, and the discounts that matter are the ones the company runs itself: near-constant category sales, a 10% store card, and program discounts for trade and registry customers.

Credit card / Amex Offer strategy

Crate & Barrel credit card (Imprint, replacing the old Synchrony program in October 2025): 10% back in Reward Dollars at all four brands, 4% on home and grocery elsewhere, plus a $50 bonus after $1,000 in outside spend. Reward Dollars come as $20 certificates with a 90-day expiry. Rewards and promotional financing are either/or per purchase.

Amex Offer. A targeted $20 back on $100 (or 2,000 Membership Rewards) ran November 20, 2025 to February 19, 2026, online only, valid on both crateandbarrel.com and cb2.com, excluding e-gift cards. Small, but it’s a statement credit so it stacks with everything. Nothing live today. No Chase Offer found.

  • Design Trade: 20% off full-price items across Crate & Barrel, CB2, and Crate & Kids, no minimum, for design professionals. Full price only per the terms.
  • Registry completion: 15% off remaining registry items for six months after the event.

FAQ

Is Crate & Barrel on Rakuten?
Not today. Rakuten's crateandbarrel.com store page shows no cash back as of mid-September 2026. Whether that's a pause or an exit is unverified. CB2 has its own page at 2% (1% on furniture), and CB2's terms exclude Crate & Barrel orders.
Can I earn 10% and use financing?
No. The Crate & Barrel credit card (issued by Imprint since October 2025) gives Reward Dollars or promotional financing on each purchase, not both. Reward Dollars come as $20 certificates that expire in 90 days.
Does the trade discount stack with sales?
Unverified, and the program's own terms say it applies to full-price items. Treat it as an alternative: 20% off full price any day, versus whatever the current sale offers. Design Trade is open to design professionals across all three brands with no minimum.
What's the registry completion discount?
15% off for six months after your event date, on items left on the registry (per the registry terms). It's one of the better discounts the company offers and it's separate from the store card.
What does delivery cost?
In-home furniture delivery is $179 for orders under $999 within 100 miles of a store, $289 for unlimited items, and $399 beyond 100 miles. It's the largest hidden cost on a furniture order; factor it in before comparing to Design Within Reach or Room & Board.
Can I return custom upholstery?
No. Custom upholstery takes a 50% non-refundable deposit with a 72-hour cancellation window, and it's non-returnable after that. Stock furniture: notify within 7 days, return within 30, you pay return shipping, no restocking fee.
